Furious. Seething. Ugh.Can't Post

Just got back from Vegas, having made the stupidest poker mistake of my
life. I only play low limit (2-4 and 3-6) but have been playing for enough
years that it was inexcusable. Can't sleep from the jetlag, so I may as
well post.

Anyway, I flop a set of aces. The turn is a 5, which pairs an existing 5. I
am heads up with someone, and I start to worry about him perhaps having a
flush draw or full house, BUT DO NOT REALIZE I HAVE A FULL HOUSE. That's
right, I see the pair as clear as day, but still see myself as only having
three of a kind. We raise and re-raise, river makes the guy's flush, whch
he shows me. I muck my aces full.

When I told my friend what I had, he pointed out the error of my ways. I
wish he didn't. In this case, ignorance is blissed. I am so, so pissed off.

God, I want to puke.

Don't play poker when you are drunk, exhausted, or stupid.

You aren't the first. Another trick I've pulled when tired is to see a
free flop with T5 in the BB and then bet my flopped straight hard through
to the river.

Unless you're still drunk when you get home and post it on RGP.

Must have been a good night.

Yep. Just try not to dwell on it.

Just realize that part of your game is concentration and that you are more
likely to make mistakes if you're tired and/or drunk or distracted by
something else. We have all been there done that.

I understood it. I was attempting to make reference to other intoxicating agents
that would cause this type of obscured view.

Besides some dealer some where has to at some point in time flopped 4 cards by
accident.
