What are the most generous hotels on the Strip? I would especially like to hear from anyone who's stayed/played at the MGM Grand since thats where I'm currently leaning towards staying at. Jonathan New User badcompany299@mail.com Sep 16, 2006, 3:02 PM Post #3 of 10(580 views) Shortcut Re: Best LV Hotel(s) for Poker Room Comps [In reply to] Can't Post i went there and played 7 or 8 different card rooms, most comps i heard of were around the 1 to 1.5$ rate for food per hour.  i was playing 2/5nl and below, i dont know how it is once you get to the bigger stakes.  mgm was my least favorite room in terms of service. it had plenty of tables and loose action(but so did everywhere else) me and my brother walked into the room and gave the guys our id's to get some chips and they made a couple smartass comments about how our id's had to be fake becasue we looked so young (and we do look young but still... stfu). later my brother gets some assclown all-in they both flip over hands and the guys see's he lost and lets off a few muttered remarks and storms outta the room to be gone forever.... but he had 12 or 13$ more than my brother so when the dealer counted them out he left the 12$ in the vilians seat (who was already obviously long gone)  for 3 HOURS!!! wake up dumbass's he's not coming back... take the fucking chips to the cage or give them to my brother who the guy obviously thought they were going to anyway. the floor was called several times about the wasted seat and it took the idiots over 3 hours to figure out the guy wasnt coming back and of course took the chips out of play (probly straight into their pocket) im nit picky though.  i like ceasers and mirage rooms the best. Thanks for your reply! I'm lookin' for a combination for the best rooms, location, restaurants, nightlife and poker room all in one hotel. I've never stayed at the MGM though I have played low-limit in their poker and found it to be enjoyable for a low-limit player/tourist. I'll be there for a full week so overall ambiance of the hotel is a must, any comps are just icing on the cake. No Karma

However, on my trip over July 4th , when I walked by their poker room during the late afternoon and early evenings, I didn't see much action going on although it is a beautiful room. I've always thought the Venetians CW's were the hottest in town, though the Venetian clientele is usually a older (I'll be 40 next month) and too "business/suit" oriented for my tastes. I'd rather play with the 21 year-olds drinking Red Bull/Vodka with thier backward-baseball caps playing drunk off their asses at midnite! I will look into what the Venetian rates are as well tho. Not much ambience but over-sized rooms, moderate price, reasonable food, several choices. Short taxi ride or take free shuttle to strip. Good games and plenty of them, good rooms and reasonable poker room rates. My first choice is Wynn, but I don't know about the lower limits, but the restaurants, clubs, ambiance and rooms are great. Personally, I do not like the Venetian, MGM, etc. Too touristy, strollers, wife beaters, and lower class people.
