AA v J10o and Being AggressiveCan't Post

OK, this hand kind of pissed me off but I'd like to know if I was wrong
in playing the way I did.

8/10 NL Holdem .25/.50 blinds 50-buyin

Me: $38.71
Opponent #2: $57.62
PREFLOP

UTG: Folds
Me: (AhAs) Raises to $2
Opponent #2: Calls $2
Opponent #3: Folds
Opponent #4: Folds
Opponent #5: Folds
Small blinds: Folds
Big blinds: Folds

FLOP

8c 7h 10h

Me: Raises to $5
Opponent: Calls $5

TURN

9s

Me: Raises $10
Opponent: Calls $10

RIVER

9h

Me: Raises all-in $21.71
Opponent: Calls $21.71

Opponent Wins: Js 10d 8c 7h 9s (straight)
Me Loses: AsAh 9s 9h 10h (2pair)

The guy kept calling the whole way down, was hard to put him on either
a draw or a made hand. I kind of thought that if he was on a draw it
would be a flush draw or an open ended and not a gutshot straight draw
since I overbet the pot on the flop. So when the turn was a 9 I
thought the best move would be to bet hard to see where I stood. When
he called the $10 on the turn I was about to fold and then the 9h hits
and I thought it might be a good opportunity to bluff. I was dead
wrong.

Thanks for your help,
Tony

Understood.   Your opponent was thinking the same thing.   When he hits his hand
on the turn and you bet into him, he has nothing to lose by calling.  If he
raises you dump.   If you check the end, he can value bet.   If you have the
image as a tight player you are dead meat in that spot.

The call on the turn might have been a clue.

I know. The last thing I wanted was an excuse to bet again at the river
but then it came... I knew I couldn't win by checking and the guy just
came into the game so I didn't know his style yet and I guess I
miscalculated my FE. Next time I won't bluff at the river... I don't
think I could have won that hand no matter what I did. I just didn't
realize it until it was too late.
